The St. Pat's in 5 pts festival is this Saturday and while the weather doesn't look to be the best, it should still be a lot of fun with some great bands like The Movement, Mute Math, and We the Kings to name a few.  I've bought my advance tickets and plan on drinking like an Irishman.  Hopefully it won't be a complete washout, but that won't stop me (the tornados last year didn't)   :shades:

Some improvements include more recycling stations and bike valets.  Here's the website for all the details:  St. Pat's in Five Points

Looks like the Vista will be the spot for this weekend with Viva La Vista and the Free Times Music Crawl going on. And of course, the sports bars and wing joints will be packed while the GA vs. SC game is going on.

Gay Pride is this weekend, as well. The first event of Friday night, at the White Mule, was packed.

Viva la Vista had 5000 attendees last year.  The second annual event yesterday had 5000 within the first hour according to The State.  I was there from 2 till around 4 and it was packed.

Man, this thread was really buried.  I think the Main Street vicinity deserves its own thread, but I've been told to post this in this thread.  It's City Center Partnership's e-newsletter about what's going on.

Don't forget that the Columbia Italian Festival and Bocce Tournament is this Saturday at Finlay Park.

Since we don't have a forum for what's happening downtown and since there doesn't seem to be any support for creating one, here's the latest newsletter from City Center Partnership.

Looks like a pretty busy weekend in Columbia with two college football games, a festival, a religious convocation, a concert and a bicycle race all going on this Saturday in and around downtown. If Viva La Vista were this weekend instead of next, it would REALLY be crazy downtown.

Columbia turns 225 years old this year. To kick off the year-long celebration of its quasquibicentennial (I had to look it up, lol), there will be a block party on Main tomorrow starting at noon on the 1300 block of Main Street.

Looks like tonight was a pretty busy night in Columbia with all three downtown districts having something special going on: Vista after Five, Five after Five (in Five Points), and the Main Street Urban Tour. Lots of music and food was present too.
