Chambers Minneapolis is the first of several new hotels that will be opening in downtown Minneapolis.
** The historic Foshay Tower (1929) will become a 229-room W hotel.
** The Ivy Tower (1931) will become part of the Luxury Collection by Starwood. The building will be part of a complex containing an 18-story hotel and a 25-story condo tower. The hotel will have 136 rooms, including the two-story "belfry-tower suite."
** The F&M Bank (1942) will become a 214-room Westin hotel. The bank lobby will be occupied by a restaurant. The old bankers' offices will be private dining rooms and the open kitchen will be located behind the former tellers' desk. Meeting rooms will be located in the bank vault and the 11th-floor boardroom will become the presidential suite.
** The Pacific development will include a new 10-story boutique hotel.
** The Zenith condo development will include a 155-room W aloft hotel.
** The 10-story Midland Bank building is being converted into a 225-unit hotel called The Hotel Minneapolis.
