emerald square mall had santa up before halloween... that was a shocker to me.

i'm talking santa for taking pics with kids... if that was there before halloween, they should be fined or soemthing.

do they realize temps are only supposed to be below freezing at night and only for a couple days?

It doesn't need to be below freezing, the rink has chillers under it. It just can't be bright sun and crazy warm or else there will be standing water on the surface of the ice. As long as it's near seasonable they should be fine.

i didn't realize they had chillers under it, but i guess that makes sense.

i want to try to go ice skating there sometime... do they rent skates?  i have my own, but the fiancee doesn't (unless she just plain doesn't want to go skating).

No they had the booth set up the whole thing...and they had markings on the railings for where they were hanging lights and stuff.. I couldn't believe it.  I love christmas, but even that made me sick.

if by "we" you mean "the people of providence" you might be pleased to know that the forestry department has been scouring the state looking for the greatest christmas tree EVAH!  I seem to remember it going up around the first week of Dec. in the past.

I'm such a hypocrite. I can't stop drinking Peppermint Mochas from Starbucks. Part of their Holiday drink line, they even come in a little red decorated 'holiday' cup. And they cost like $20 a pop, so I have no money left for presents this year.

i actually offered to go to starbucks with the fiancee on sunday after going to the mall because she asked me if there was one in the mall (presumably to get one of those peppermint thingys...).  she said no... but i kind of wanted to becuse they made a pretty good chai latte.
