They had a section about that in Popular Science they called it the 54 story air cleaner.

Golly, what a progressive city.

Do all the new taller buildings in New York have to be more environmentally friendly or is it just the latest trend? (Either way it's a good thing)

Went by the site again today.  This tower is still behind the NY Times tower as far as the foundation goes, but not by a whole lot:

Yes, I too am impressed with how far along this project has come. I believe the exterior is going to be completely done by December with a grand opening in spring 2008.

Yeah BOA looks great, except when construction debris is falling and injuring passers-by...  :o

it is a very sexy building though.  I'm glad to see more things popping up over that 700 foot ceiling in the 40s

Did anyone else see the glass fall off of 1 Bryant Park today!!! I work in the Americas Building about 2 blocks away and thankfully I was on the other side of the street! I'll try to get a picture if its not cleaned up by the time I get off work!!!
