Nice pics gsupstate.  I think I've seen Ranier Tower but didn't know what the name of the building was or even where it was exactly.  Also interesting seeing the original Starbucks, the window also mentions tea and spices other than coffee.

Thanks Mith242.   :)

I must say, when you walk by Rainier Tower on the street, with that base, from certain angles it feels as though the tower may fall over.  A very uneasy feeling.

That's a nice shot.  It's also nice to see some more of Seattle's structures.  Usually I only get to the the Space Needle or a far out panorama shot of the city.  Nice to see some more details of some of the other buildings.

It's either 76 or 78.

Columbia Center is 76 stories but seems bigger when you're standing next to it.  I wonder how soon a taller building will be built now that the height limits in the CBD have been removed.  It seems there is a worldwide 'super-tall' frenzy going on these days...how soon until Seattle decides to build another giant?  I don't expect anything like the Burj Dubai or the Fordham but I can see someone throwing up something taller than 76 stores.  But when?

Gsupstate...thanks for the pics, you always post good ones of Seattle.

Albuquerque doesn't have much of a skyline for a city it's size.  But here's a couple of shots I took last fall.

Thanks!  :)   I'll post some of my other West Coast photos too, I just LOVE Seattle.  Definitely my favorite U.S. city and probably one of my top 3 world cities (that I've visited).

I've never been to Seattle but it's always been high up on my list.  If I had to move out of my area I think it or Albuquerque would be my top two choices to go to.

^great view of seattle, I hate to reference greys anatomy, but if you ever watch it, they have the best overheads of seattle I have ever seen.

Here's the maiden voyage of one of the new tram cars that will fly between the South Waterfront District and OHSU on the top of the hill in Portland.  Notice this car still has it's plastic wrap on and there are some crazy guys riding on the roof.  The pic is from Wikipedia.

Any idea what kind of elevation change this tram will be covering?

I don't know the numbers but I estimate the height of Pill Hill(Marquam Hill) to be around a thousand feet...maybe less and definitely not too much more.  Then again that's just a guess and hills can be deceptive.

Well I have been looking at tram and OHSU info and can't find anything on the height of Marquam Hill.  But here's a photo from the OHSU site...

The tram will be coming from the level of the river to the campus in the pic.

There's a tramway in Albuquerque.  It's got the longest span.  But I haven't seen the elevation difference.  The top of Sandia Crest is around 10,600 ft.  The area of Albuquerque where it tram is located is probably around 6,000 ft or so.  Maybe higher I'm not sure.

The tram in ABQ is much bigger than the one here in Portland.
