This seemed like a good development....

until the line comparing it to Wickford Point.  I've never seen Wickford Point, but it's in North Kingstown and therefore is pretty much guaranteed crap.

I believe architect for this is Don Powers Assoc. - the good folks there are pious new urbanists and I'm sure it will be lovely.

So if a Casino and Walmart were giving away free fresh kettle corn and donuts, with the only caveat that you had to spend an hour in one of them doing what people normally do in these establishments, which one would you pick?

how much fresh kettle corn and how many donuts? I just think casinos are sad more than anything. walmart just is awful.   BTW that choice is just like the gss one--leave it to fall apart, or take it down.  We call that a Hobson's choice--no choice at all.

but, if the casino was no smoking, and i could hang by the pool, i'd probably pick casino, but it would have to be a lot of donuts and kettle corn and all you drink cokes.

Gilbane pulled out of this project months ago due to economy and regulatory issues.

No new plans from Gilbane for the project have been submitted to the East Providence Waterfront Commission since last year.
