What Bryant, Cabot and Conway don't tell you is if you are white and in  high school the best school in the area might be LR Central. Central has the highest graduation rate, one of the lowest college remediation rates and the highest ACT scores. On top of that it offers the largest variety of classes.

I think they were one of, if not the only Arkansas public school nationally recognized as one of the top 50 high schools in the nation.

I agree.  We are discussing population trends and why the occur. I'm a private school guy but if I sent my kids to public school it would be to selected LRSD schools rather than Conway, Bryant, etc.  Central is top-notch.

There are studies that show white kids in the LRSD do better than white kids in these schools.  Studies that helped end the desegregation suit showed that black students in the LRSD are not only more likely to graduate college than black students in the rest of the state, they are more likely to graduate college than white students in the rest of Arkansas.  The LRSD gets a bad rap.

I think LR Mills cracked the top 100 as well but technically it's in the Pulaski Co Special School District.
