apparently this project was in some jeapordy, but MGM will push forward with all its projects despite its recent poor performance.

MGM recently opened its new casino in CT.  or rather it is in the process of opening certain parts of it.

CityCenter construction workers are on strike starting June 3rd at midnight due to safety concerns that escalated after another death (the sixth in less then a year and a half) occurred on Saturday 5/31/08. The strike will continue until Perini Construction comes up with a plan to address the safety issues according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

The strike didn't last long the workers returned to work on June 4th.

New update on CityCenter, the Vdara (57 floors, 557 ft), Aria Resort (61 floors, 600 ft) and Mandarin Oriental (47 floors, 537 ft) have all topped out. The Harmon (24 out of 49), and Veer east and west (East 28 out of 37 and West 32 out of 37) have a little more to go.

*Possible construction holdup on the Harmon*

All towers with the exception of the Harmon have topped out. The Harmon on the other hand is on hold and will likely stay at its current height (24 floors). Phase one of this project is slated to open late 2009. Also MGM has stated that they may go bankrupt.
