I really enjoyed the sub when I visited it. I hope they can recover it!

Jeez, the sub is still under water?  And will be at least until next spring?  We'll be lucky if the poor thing isn't totally ruined.

It's a sub!  It's supposed to be there!   :P Did anyone think to seal the hatch before it went down?

One sub, coming right up

Juliett 484, a Soviet-era ballistic-missile submarine, is still stuck in the mud on the bottom of Providence harbor, flooded and rusting inside.

Providence's Russian sub -- which sank last year and was raised again this summer with much travail -- is to become scrap metal, that is, if no one steps up to buy the vessel intact.

The Navy is looking to donate two top-secret vessels, and Frank Lennon, who had operated the former Russian Sub Museum here, has taken notice. “Interested is one word,” Lennon said yesterday.
