A new shopping center may be coming to downtown. The plans include a Wal-mart and other stores for a total of about 400,000 sq. feet of retail space. The location will be at the corner of Lewiston Rd and I-20. This would make the 9th Walmart in the Augusta metro.

Yeah, that's great to hear. If anyone didn't know that Grovetown was growing, this would definitely let them know, LOUD AND CLEAR!!!
It's a funny thing also because, now Georgia's stretch of I-20 probably will have at least 6-7 walmarts on it.
In fact the Covington, GA one is almost done, (yep you guessed it at Exit 93 off I-20). So now the gateway into both Atlanta and Augusta will be "Wally Worlds" hmmm, gotta love GA.

Update: Construction should start soon on the Grovetown Walmart. The plans are for it to be opened by March 2009.

That is great. Now we need a decent Sams to replace the outdated one we have.
