I am about 50/50.  There is suppose to be a landing of the world's largest plane in Memphis (and it's a once in a lifetime thing here in the states) on Sauturday and I might be down there for that during the meeting.  I'll know once I get a little closer to saturday whether I will be there or not.

Is that the an Antonov cargo plane from Russia?  I don't know th e model number.   I believe it is more than 50% larger than a 747.

Yeah Hank, it's the Antonov 225 Myria.  It was built to carry the Russian Space Shuttle, the Buran.  But after the fall of the Soviet Union, it was relegated to super heavy cargo lifts around the world.

It will be in MEM on saturday and I, along with the wife, are scheduled to meet it down there.

I hate to miss you at the meet Saturday, but this is something you've got to do.  I really am looking forward to seeing pics!

Good luck to all about tomorrow. I sure hope to be there, but The Call will dominate downtown in the morning. Several streets will be closed, including Church until 10:45. 7-10,000 people are expected to walk a "Repentance Walk" from 25th to LP Field going down Elliston and Church, then across the Woodland St. Bridge.

Would it be bad of me if I found a parking spot off West End and walked amongst the crowd down Church... but then took a right turn at 8th to the cafe?

This will definately be challenging. 100,000 folks is a lot of humanity.

I would like to say that we had a great forum meet yesterday.  There was a lively discussion of development in the Nashville area.  This was my first meet in a few months, and I think the group is, if anything, becoming even more passionate.  Thanks to all for a great time.  We are indeed living in a lanmark era in the development of Nashville.  I can't remember when so many mega-projects have ever happened at the same time.....The Pinnacle, the WES, the Icon, the Adelicia, the probable Signature Tower, and the likely expansions of the Nashville Convention Center, and Opryland Hotel to name a few.  Wow!

I'll be there.  I think that last time we discussed meeting at the coffee shop at 10:30 instead of the usual 10:00.  Thanks.

I assume you're meeting on Saturday at Provence at 10:00AM.  Is that correct?  I hope to discuss a possible Chattanooga forum meet in October then.

Can someone send me an email on the location and time. Obviously, I've yet to got to one of those forum meets and I think I finally might be able to make one.

Hopefully there will be one of these when I come back home for a visit in January. It'll only be my 2nd forum meeting I've attended and really wanna see the progress. And, where is this place at, gimmie an intersection.
We are still holding the meetings starting around 10:00 AM on the first Saturday of every month at Provence, which is the coffee shop in the Public Library.  The coffee shop is located at the SE corner of Church and 6th and there are doors on both streets.  We look forward to seeing you there in January!

Please note that the location is back at Provance Bread in the library on Church Street. Some of the old core people that do not post still come as well as the old folks like "Its Just Dave". Did I say old, I meant ancient. Just kidding Dave..BTW, Hope you are doing good. :fun:  .  We have not had any new blood for a while.

Just a reminder about the meet this Saturday @ 10 am at Provence in the Main Library DT on Church St.  I do know there will be an update on Siggy from William. There may be no news or some news but an update at least.

Good meet today adn thanks for showing up.

We had about a dozen, including Bzorch and another from the Charrette, WW, myself, producer2, jaxboro, skyscrapergeek and company, Hankster, bwithers, and  nashvegas.

We had an update on 1808 West End which is a 15 story office building being converted to another hotel, the Eakin twins towers property will be vacant in Feb 09 for the possible start of that project. Best One tires will relocate their retail entity to West End and the warehouse goes to Murfreesboro Rd. Lake Palmer still has water flowing into it which may be a spring. We dont  know for sure.  I did talk to someone with Bovis Land lease adn he said they would start on the actual construction very soon.

WW updated on the Siggy, but I am sorry to say we cannot say anything right now other than Tony G. is doing all possible to make this baby rise.

We had a lengthy discussion on the new Convention Center. The only news is that there may be news in a couple of weeks and I didn't know that a hotel company had bought land on the Greyhound side for a hotel. So there may be two large hotels to accompany the center.

Was there any discussion on how/when the design team will be selected? Will there still be a design competition?
