I guess this is as good as any thread to post this info.
Boom turns to glut for Providence hotels
The investors who shoveled $11 million into the Hampton Inn & Suites on Weybosset Street like to remind guests that the high-ceilinged reception area was once a bank lobby.

I guess we finally have enough hotels in Providence after all. I just don't see anything else being built hotel wise for many more years. Unless the convention center is turned into a casino and they water fire every weekend from Mother's Day until Thanksgiving.
The Hampton Inn will be it.
The Hampton Inn will be it.

I saw an article somewhere about Cicilline and Thom Dellar pushing to get the hotel and stuff built at Conley's Wharf. I don't remember where, but it might've been RI Future.

I've heard of at least 2 hotels in the exploratory stages. And the Sheraton in the Promenade seems to be on hold.
ETA: There is to be a hotel at Dynamo House if that is ever finished.
And who knows what is up with Seirra Suites?
And there was the Orange Street proposal which seems to have vaporized.

Hampton Inn wins conversion award
The Hampton Inn & Suites Providence Downtown has been recognized by Hilton Worldwide with its national Best Conversion Award for the transformation of the former Old Colony Bank in downtown Providence into a 110-room boutique hotel.
The $20-million project, a joint-venture between First Bristol Corp., run by James Karam, and Granoff Associates, was designed by Newport Collaborative Architects. The hotel opened in April 2009. The building at 58 Weybosset St. was originally constructed in 1926.
