Luxury Trains to Ply D.C.-Miami Route

A new owner has purchased the former American Orient Express trains and intends to run them on several routes in the U.S..  Among them is a Washington-Miami service which will tag along behind Amtrak's Silver Meteor.  Rates start at $789.00 for a one night trip.  Trips of two nights or more (Western routes) begin at about $1500.00.  The cars themselves are basically just the old AOE equipment, but Tom Rader, CEO of the venture, vows to add more equipment and routes.  This won't be cheap, but it could be a nice option for a lucky few.

This will make it 4 rail routes servicing Orlando ; the other 3 being Amtrak and their Auto Train to DC.

Actually, this will not be a new route, just a new service.  The four GLE cars will simply tag along at the end of the existing Amtrak Silver Meteor.  It's still pretty neat, but it won't be a new route.

Intermediate stops in Orlando and Palm Beach have been added to the route.  This might be a success, but its previous incarnation did not work terribly well.  I'd love to see this service take off, but one can never be sure.
