Absolutely, he should resign. Hell, he and Nagin should both resign.
Mr. Jordan has repeatedly demonstrated that he is "all talk and no action". He has been engaged in a war with the Mayor and Police Chief and has spent more time shifting blame than fighting crime. Instead, he should be prosecuting cases and be developing ways to ensure that witnesses are protected from harm.
In retrospect, Eddie Jordan became district attorney because he happened to be the U.S. attorney during Edwin Edwards' conviction. The public linked Jordan to Edwards' downfall. We now know that Jim Letton, current U.S. attorney, was the real brains behind case. Thus, the public had no clear picture as to what his abilities even were. (I was fooled as well. An Eddie Jordon sign was in my yard.)
Mr. Jordan's tenure has been a disappointment from the beginning. He has shown himself to be a lightning rod for controversy. From his expeditious termination of the vast majority of support staff (not attorneys) that were employed by Harry Connick certainly to his insistance on taking Dr. Ana Pou's alleged euthanasia case to a grand jury, his actions have not endeared him to most in the city.

It's a shame that the mayor will not stand up and criticize him for what he has done.
I am surprised that no one has filed an ethics complaint against him with the Louisiana State Bar Association. If EJ's law license were to be suspended, that could be one way to get rid of the moron.

It appears that Mr. Jordan has finally decided to resign. I hope his successor will be a better replacement.
