I was looking around here and also at http://austinforum.8...r.com/index.php and noticed all the awesome housing/retail projects going up. But I got to thinking, "Is anyone building just retail? Like not a condo/retail but just a nice shopping place in downtown Austin? Please post if you've got any answers, pics, or websites. Thanks.

There are plenty of small shop owners downtown, but no large mall if that's what you mean. If you go away from downtown, check out The Domain thread on here.

I would think that the property in downtown is too valuable to build a retail only project. Developers get more return on their investment by adding a mix of uses to the property.
