The new Comfort Suites hotel will begin clearing land in the next 2 weeks.  It's official location will be beside the Wingate Inn off of Dave Lyle in Atherton Park.

Dave Lyle is quickly turning into a smaller version of Concord Mills Blvd/Harbison Blvd/Woodruff Rd.

Herlong is becoming very nice as well. They also just started construction on a new 25,000 sq foot Carolina's First Bank/ Mortgage Office.

Plans were unveiled yesterday for a 28-foot-tall sculpture to be installed at the entrance to the renovated Cotton Factory downtown. Called "Loom," the work will boast a metal tower stretching nearly three stories high, two earthcast towers and steel cables connecting each element.

Yep, you've got the ones recently completed on Black Street, I believe, the complex that's being constructed on West Main between Constitution and Cherry, and the ones next to Manchester Meadows.

The Marriott is building a hotel at the old movie theater near the Rock Hill Galleria....

This will be where the Red Lobster and Circuit City will be located.  Along w/ Gap and Old Navy and quite a few others from what I hear.

So I see it will be an extended-stay hotel, the first in the county. That's a good thing.

I didn't know that the development that includes the Kohl's and Hobby Lobby will be about the size of Manchester Village. Dave Lyle traffic will be ridiculous for a city Rock Hill's size in about two years.

I'd like to see at least one of these new hotels go downtown.
