When did Dr. Blakely make this statement?  I had not heard this.
It was on Kaare Johnson's show on 690am. Not sure of the exact date, but it was last week. Kaare kept pushing him to give specific projects relating to his "you'll see cranes over New Orleans" comment he keeps making. He mentioned the Trump project twice. Can we believe Dr. Blakeley? I guess we'll know in January.

LOVE the new website! I've been checking the photo gallery page almost daily, but still nothing yet. Can't wait to see some new renderings!

Must have been a mistake on the technical end, as the new site is back up now.

Welcome, New2NO.  I don't know if the sales center is officially open yet, but a friend of mine who works on the 25th floor of the Pan Am Life Building told me today that the Trump folks had moved into their offices.  This is very positive news.

By the way, it appears that the Trump organization is finally starting to advertise for the New Orleans project.  Several news releases have been issued regarding the Trump Hotel Collection.  The New Orleans project is in the list of future hotels.  Trump Hotel Collection story

I see they are still listing a 2010 completion date...How long will it take to build?

According to the Times-Picayune, construction on the tower is expected to take 28 months.  If only they would break ground...

28 months for a building that tall and an area that small in the middle of the CBD?  Wow!  Has anyone been to the sales center?

28 months seems awfully fast for a 70 story building.  Who is the contractor?

Has anyone seen any new renderings of Trump? That's something I have been really looking forward to. I remember hearing that the Trump people were going to release some renderings of the New Orleans skyline with Trump Tower included, but haven't seen anything yet.

Here's some good news about the Trump project; the sales office, located in the Pan-American Life Center across Camp St. from the Trump site, will be opening within the next two weeks.

The reason a tower can be put up faster here in New Orleans or other areas than what seems normal is weather. Once foundation work is put in there is little to delay highrise construction. Up north there can be more delays because of extreme cold weather!

Per WDSU tv in N.O., pre-sales have exceeded pre-construction goals by 300% according to the sales manager for the project. The story ran on Friday's 10pm broadcast. They also reported that the building is a definite and will break ground in "early 2008". First move-ins will be 2 years from the start of construction.

This is the first confirmation I have ever seen on this project. Great news for N.O.

I saw the story as well, and it is very encouraging!  However, Irene has been singing that 300% pre-sale song for a few months though, and I am disappointed that there was no mention of actual signed contracts.
