Here is a link to a story about the piece of cement that fell from the I-675 bridge to Washington Avenue in Saginaw.

Interesting thing is, there's quite a bit of construction equipment up on Wash. Ave beneath the bridge.  I had actually thought they were in the process of doing bridge inspections before this incident happened.  Good thing no one was hurt.  The 675 bridge has always appeared to be in good condition despite the state of other bridges nearby.  5th and 6th Ave bridges are currently marked up for some major repairs.

I'm guessing all repairs will be completed before 2011 which is when the Zilwaukee bridge will be shut down.

Yes, I think I remember reading some where that the bridge had recently been inspected but I could be wrong.

They had better not ave the repairs going on at the same time. Can you imagine the traffic if the interstates were closed at the same time?
