Florissant was first setled on in the late 1700s by the French and was known as St. Ferdinand but for years the area was known as Florissant (Meaning the valley of the flowers.) . The name was finally changed to Florissant in the 1930s.

Yay!  Now I can see the pics!

Nice photos, Brickcity!  The city hall is interesting.  It looks older than the 1970s at first glance.  It could even be mistaken for an old mansion or something.  It seems to fit well into the neighborhood as well.

Thanks everyone! :)

Old Town is an intersting area however most of Florissant (which is a suburb) was developed in 1960s, but luckly the Old Town district really never declined.

Florissant is NOT a St. Louis neighborhood, it is a northern SUBURB!

St. Louis City neighborhoods are much denser and more urban.  Florissant is a nice historic suburb.

Chill dude, it is outside of St. Louis therefore it is a St. Louis suburb.  The man used the wrong wording, no big deal.  Great pics Brickcity, I always loved that side of town.  I had an uncle that lived up there.
