Dear Pawtucket - here's another great opportunity for you to get involved in the arts drenched city we all love.

The Gamm Theatre (www.gammtheatre.org) and VSA arts of Rhode Island (www.vsartsri.org) (two great Pawtucket based art organizations!) are teaming up for a free pre-show panel discussion before the October 5th production of the Elephant Man.  The event, moderated by Tony Estrella (Gamm Artistic Director) is called "Beyond Villians and Victims" and it's a discussion about disability from the sideshow, the stage & the street corner with Victoria Lewis (pioneer in theatre & disability and founder of the Other Voices Project at LA's Mark Taper Forum), Dennis Hurley (writer, actor and producer of the Albino Code, a film parody of The Da Vinci Code) and Judith Swift (theatre and communications professor at URI).  The panel is free and open to the public (starts at 6:30) and the following performance is $27.  VSA arts RI is offering a reduced performance price for that evenings show for people with disabilities, their families and service providers for $10.  This will also be the first ASL interpreted show the Gamm Theatre has ever done!  Which is very exciting!  Light refreshments will be served after the show for actors, panelists and theatre goers to mingle!

Teacups; The Gamm is a Rhode Island treasure! My wife and I will be attending the performance tomorrow. I'll let you know what we think.
