Sounds encouraging!
Is there commuter rail between Dallas and Fort Worth?
There is - the Trinity Railway Express:
http://www.trinityrailwayexpress.org/
Running since 2001 between downtown Fort Worth's Texas & Pacific Terminal and Intermodal Transportation Center to Union Station, Victory Station, and Medical/Market Center in Dallas by way of Richland Hills, Hurst, CentrePort just south of DFW Airport, West Irving, and South Irving. Most recent ridership was a little over 2.5 million per year, and growing.
Fort Worth already has another commuter line in the planning, known as Southwest to Northeast which would run from southwest Fort Worth through downtown, up through Grapevine and directly into DFW Aiport's terminals.

Then, of course, there's the streetcar plan talked about on this thread.
