Mineral Wells' Baker Hotel Could See New Life
The Baker Hotel, the long-vacant crown jewel of Mineral Wells, may possibly see new life as the town has announced new incentives to lure a developer willing to restore the shuttered landmark. Designed by the same architectural firm that built the Arlington in Hot Springs, the Baker was once the center of vibrant nightlife and a thriving resort. In recent years, the hotel has been little more than the scene of ghost tours and the occasional film crew. A plan last year came to nought, but the new incentives could make all the diference this time.
