This looks to be a long way off still but they are down to 4 finalists.

There is a ton of information at that link. This looks like it could be the begining of a very nice very walkable area and really a large scale version of Northampton

Here is the info about the 4 finalists
The four firms were narrowed from a field of seven and are Connolly and Partners of Boston, CSM & Companies of New Haven, Conn., Lexington Partners of Hartford, Conn., and Trinity Financial of Boston.
I will be pulling for the Hartford firm so as much of the money stays local as possible
The Connolly and Partners team was responsible for projects such as the conversion of Whalers Place in New Bedford, a 100,000-square-foot mill, into 75 apartments; the Academy Building mixed-use project in Fall River; and was involved in Classical High School's conversion to 111 condominiums in Springfield.
CSM & Companies has completed major mixed-use/residential conversion projects such as 55 on the Park and the Metropolitan in downtown Hartford, as well as the Residence on the Green in downtown New Haven, and 305 Dutton in downtown Lowell.
Lexington Partners is responsible for the $40 million Trumbull on the Park in downtown Hartford, which includes 100 luxury apartments with 8,000 square feet of retail space and a 600-car parking garage in both new construction and historic restoration, as well as an upcoming historic mill residential conversion in Glastonbury, Conn.
Trinity Financial is developing the Avenir in Boston's historic North Station, a $150 million mixed-use development, along with the Carruth in Dorchester, a mixed-use development that includes 116 apartments and 10,000 square feet of retail space.
This is the kind of project any city would be proud to have in the pipeline.
I will surely be following its progress and I live 45 minutes away

Court Square Developer Chosen
Out of all the ideas submitted, city officials felt developer Michael Connonlly's vision for Court Square was the best fit for a revitalized downtown Springfield.
Connolly says, "The plans are to redevelop the building as a historic landmark and it includes the buyers block which is over here to the right, we're going to have a hotel we're going to have apartments we're going to have artists lofts and we are going to have retail on the first floor and all the way down courthouse lane."
The project will redevelop one of the oldest buildings in the city, next to the Old First Church, and across from City Hall and Symphony Hall.
