I have a lot of pics of Lawrenceville, but some of it's quite repetetive so I'll only post a handful of them...
This area has become popular with artists, is Pittsburgh's largest rowhouse neighborhood and is being revitalized.  I have essentially changed this thread to include pictures of other Pittsburgh neighborhoods, instead of starting a new thread for each neighborhood.

This style reminds me of Baltimore:

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.  I think I'm going to add my pics from some of the other neighborhoods on this post instead of creating another one; I still have more for most neighborhoods, and I haven't yet posted Uptown, Southside Flats, Shadyside, South Oakland, etc.

Next up we have the medical and educational center of Pittsburgh, Oakland.  Oakland has some of the most bizzarre and ecclectic architecture in the city....

I love these Georgian/Victorian rows, they remind me of San Francisco as they crawl up the hill.  One of them is for rent, $1500 I believe for 4 bedrooms.

I love the Southside.  The residential sections of the Southside Flats:

IIRC "Lawrenceville United" started the video camera program (thus the camera you noted).  I remember when I first moved over there, they had just made an arrest based on footage from someone's feed.  There are none on my street though, so I don't have any opinion one way or the other about it.

Great pics as always...

nice shots of Uptown.. it's a shame much of the neighborhood has been demolished by that criminal from Carnegie who operates a dozen illegal parking lots there... and that Fifth and Forbes operate as automobile sewers... slicing through the neighborhood with brutal efficiency

Really?!  I know some parts of the neighborhood have a crack problem, but most of the area seemed rather safe to me.  The places close to Stanton Heights are a little run down though.  Maybe the new Children's Hospital will help revitalize that.  I had a talk with an old lady who was concerned I was taking pictures because I wanted to rob the place; She couldn't understand why I'm attracted to rowhouses.

Thanks

:shok:  I hadn't heard anything about that...it's sad many of the buildings have been torn down period.  While I was there I met a guy from Brooklyn who was fixing up one of the rows.  Unfortunately too few are willing to invest in fixing up those areas.

Shadyside continued...

In driving into Shadyside to take my mom for lunch, I could only find one close/free parking space.  We parked in front of this house which just happened to be my mom's friend's house from 30 years ago:

Thanks to The Gerbil for the post on Chatham Village...this neighborhood on Mt. Washington was named as one of the ten greatest neighborhoods this year by the American Planning Association.  It features Georgian Revival rowhouses amidst 200 year old trees, now if only the architecture was as old as the trees....
