As a new person to the thread, where are all the people and jobs coming from that will supposedly live and work in this building or the numerous other developments in this city?  Also, is this the capital city of the U.A.E.?  If so, this emirate may not have much oil, but they are going to receive the money I assume from the other emirates since they are the capital.
BTW, this just looks incredible, and I hope someday I get a chance to visit there.  Definitely the Asian cities, and Dubai, are putting the large U.S. cities to shame w/ these new skylines.  I wish it weren't the case.  Oh well, NYC is still a great city, and possibly still the best city in the world.

There's a lot of people coming from Western Europe that will fill this and hundreds of other condo/mixed use developments in UAE. Also, Abu Dhabi is the capitol of the UAE, not Dubai. Abu Dhabi is actually bigger than Dubai by about 400,000 people. Lastly, the emirate of Dubai doesn't recieve any money from other emirates on oil. In fact, oil makes up less than 6% of Dubai's GDP.

The Burj Dubai has now passed the Sears tower (with Antenna 527.3 meters) the Burj now stands at 531.1 meters (145 floors) and counting. The reason why I point this out is antennas do not count when it comes to building height if the did the Sears Tower would be the tallest building in the world after the Burj Dubai.
