Have you had a noticing-traffic-vaccine or something?

Mikey must only hit Bald Hill Rd. to hit Denny's after clubbing.

I also hear the traffic is ok before 10 AM or so.

WOW.  Finally something in this state to be excited about!!!  I have been to TJ in VA and they are great.  RT 2 is fine, as a matter of fact the perfect location outside of Providence.... WOOT!

Signs are up. It must have happened recently - I don't remember them when I was down there last week.

There's no indication of an opening date.

Tree's aren't allowed into parking lots in Warwick. They get in the way of the pavement.

The only other upside to Trader Joe's being in Warwick can be seen in the background of the first photograph between the signage and the person. Now I can go have lunch and do some shopping all in one trip and only park the car once.

You mean Chipotle? I really like that place, but the portions are waaay too large. One meal there and you don't have to eat for 2 days.

Agree with jim, though. You'd have to be crazy to try crossing Rt. 2 at that intersection. Any intersection, really.

Mrs Lunchtray applied for a part time job there today. She said that the store still has a ways to go and that they where doing everything at a table on the sidewalk. They didnt give her any eta for an opening date. I just hope she gets the gig so we can get our employee discount on.

There's a crosswalk in the photo. I say we do an urban intervention and have a hundred people show up there and spend the afternoon using the crosswalk. The drivers' brains'll esplode.

October 31st, 9:00 am.
They will be serving refreshments in the parking lot prior to opening. (e.g. "expect a crowd")

This is per the guy that answered at their phone number (listed at traderjoes.com)

Did anyone go to the grand opening today?  If so, how does it compare to the Boston TJs in size and selection?

My girlfriend and I stopped in last night about 20 minutes before the store closed.

The size and layout are great. Not cramped like some of the Boston area stores.
It was still busy, but there were plenty of carts and baskets.

They had most of what I was after, but the store looked like they were predicting a 4-foot snowstorm for tomorrow. Very picked over, and they probably don't get another shipment until tomorrow.

Other than the lack of cheap wine, this will be one of the better Trader Joe's once the traffic settles down to a normal level.
