Again, not a highrise. Bancorp Plaza is important because it will be home to another corporate headquarters downtown. In this case, Central Bancorp. The more jobs downtown, the more demand for housing and other services. It also represents a major makeover for the northeast corner of Nevada and Colorado.

This rendering is from Cenral Bancorp's website. YOW architects should also be credited.

The site was formerly home to a 2-story office building called One City Centre. The below photo, taken last fall (by me), shows demo work as Bancorp Plaza got underway.

The project is nearing completion. I'll have to get some updated photos soon.

Nice project.

The only bad thing I could possibly say is that its a shame its not 3 stories.  That architectural style looks far better on 3-4 story buildings than 2 story.  But any HQ is a good HQ.

looking at it from Virtual Warth, I see construction and a crane on the SW corner of that intersection.  whats going on there?

This is a very active area with Pikes place/cooper just 1 block North, the USOC HQ 1 block west, and that crane I mentioned across the intersection.

Nice activity going on out there!!

Yeah. There was a parking garage under construction on that corner when that image was taken. As garages go, it's pretty nice... but it was only a garage.

This project is now complete. This is the most updated photo I have. Obviously the building isn't finished in this picture, but you get the idea.
