I don't see what the big deal is. I thought that house was offices anyway, and nobody in their right mind is going to want to live directly behind the post office.

No, the house they lease now is zoned for offices but the rest of Spring St. isn't.   THe concern is not to have 'spot zoning"  and protect the integretiy of the
historic neighborhood...  THis is what the trust has fought for.  However, to serve the Trust's interest , they want special consideration.  Also, I don' t think
the house they want rezoned would accomodate the parking required.

Also, the person who wanted to buy the house is still interested and has made offers...

Watching the video of planning director Stephanie Monroe, I found it hard to believe she didn't check her zoning book to find the exact number of parking spaces needed or
that the Trust didn't submit a SITE plan.   Yet, she brought it before council unprepared,IMO.

I know from personel dealing with Ms. Monroe that the first thing she did was check the parking requirements and tell me I needed a conclusive site plan APPROVED.

Ah, I didn't realize someone actually wanted to buy that house.

What I should have said is that visually, the first few houses on that block of Spring St appear to be offices (regardless of whether they are or not they are zoned for it).

Where else could the Trust and the PAL and the other group move to? They are going to need a larger office if they are going to partner together
