In reading the Greenville News this morning I noticed that a Staff Writer wrote:

The development, 100 East, which is a block off Main Street at the corner of Washington and Spring Streets, will feature retail on the ground floor, seven floors of apartments and a rooftop pool within close reach of the sidewalk.

I really don't think they did their research. H#$*! all they had to do is look at the sign on the street. But thats the Greenville News for ya.

I'm starting to wonder if there IS any more information. I've never seen a more vague website. http://100east.net/
No prices. No floor plans or hints of what the interiors will be like. Not even a link to or mention of the developer?

Has anyone heard anything concrete about prices?

This is the best info I could find so far: http://www.gsabusine...-downtown?rss=0 I'm sure more will come out at a later date.

If you register your email address or call the phone number on the website a leasing representative will respond with detailed information. The current website is just a landing page and I would expect a more detailed website with floor plans will be completed shortly. Rents are not set yet as the project is 9 months from completion and ultimately the state of the market closer to that time will determine the rental rates. The leasing representative did say that they expect rents to start around $950 per month, which is inline with McBee Station.

Went by today and blocks are already being laid. I think this is going to rise pretty quick.

Those are the block for the elevator shafts and stairwells they are building now.  I used to build these back in the day, along with all other types of masonry work.

Some slight material changes are coming forth in the January DPC meeting: http://www.greenvill...ngtonStreet.pdf

The panels are being replaced with EIFS and some brick change, but overall the composition seems to remain mostly unchanged..?

The work that is taking place on the parking garage is not simply painting. The bricks on the columns have been completely removed on the left side, leaving only the rough concrete structure. I wonder what the issues were that are requiring the re-cladding of the garage..?

It's my understanding that when the garage was built, the poured concrete columns were then faced with brick.  BUT -- and this sounds crazy -- they didn't use brick-ties to attach the bricks to the columns.  And at the time, no one noticed that that step had been skipped.  In fact, no one noticed until pieces of brick started falling to the sidewalk below.  On further inspection, it was discovered that whole sections of brick were separating from the columns, all the way from the top of the garage down.  That's why everything got wrapped in tarps, to limit the possibility of brick shards hitting pedestrians and cars.

So now, they're removing all of the original bricks and re-bricking everything the right way (one hopes).  I will say, glad they're doing it, but it's slow going.  I think 100 East will be fully occupied before the garage project is completed.

Thanks for the insight! I assume this is at not cost to the City (other than maybe some minor parking revenues from the construction confusion).

From what I understand, the general contractor of the garage is being held liable. Apparently it was a $1million  mistake and is going to take 9 months to correct.

(DowntownCityGirl is exactly correct in her above explanation of what is taking place).

With the third floor in and the columns rising for the fourth, this is really beginning to take some shape.
