There is a new addition going up at the Wheeler school. It appears to have a fairly modern aesthetic placed between two historic brick buildings. It is located west of Hope Street on Meeting Street.

I really like that Wheeler upgrades. I'll be excited to see how they end up.

Can't find the thread where this was discussed, but re: building/vacant lot at Weybosset/Eddy that's getting new windows... saw a backhoe digging a big hole to expose a portion of the building's foundation. Looked nasty.

Old Downcity Diner location that burned down.

They are putting a new facade on the side of the American Apparel building that was exposed by the building next to it burning down. New Facade will shore up the side of the building and will include a new stairwell. The stairwell is designed so at some future date (when the economy stops being a big suck hole) a new building can be built and the stairwell will be incorporated into it. The facade with windows will be built so it can be removed when a new building is finally built on the Downcity Diner lot.

For now (during the suckitude) sadly the lot will be surface parking. There was some talk of perhaps a very thin liner building being built at the street in the interim, but that would require another trip to the DDRC for approval.

this would be the thread for which you were looking.
