I'm going to be moving to Detroit for a job in a few months and I'm looking for an apartment downtown. Right now I'm looking at Washington Square, http://www.washingto...aredetroit.com/. Anyone know anything about this place?
Downtown Apartments?

Yes, it is a decent place and one of the few rentables in the Central Business District. It's former name is Trolley Plaza and was scruitinized a few years ago when a tenant died when the elevator he was in fell "backwards" and shot up to the top floor. It's under new ownership now and I think a lot of people "in the know" speculate that the new owners wanted to get in on the rebirth of the immediate area with the Book Cadillac coming online...in addition, the 3 casinos, Rock Financial HQ (next door), Pick Fort Shelby, Campus Martius, Cadillac Square, etc...
If it's downtown you're looking at, also try these:
Riverfront Towers (one tower is left for rent)

Millender Center:

Loft of Merchants Row:

Lofts at Woodward Center:

You might also want to look in Midtown, Corktown, Rivertown, or Lafayette Park. They are all part of the Greater Downtown Area.
Check out http://www.detroitmidtown.com They have a lot of listings for the Greater Downtown Area.
