I was talking to a friend of mine in Houston and he is without power and parts of his neighborhood are flooded but he's ok. Up here in Texarkana, Tropical Storm Ike brought 50 mph winds and heavy rain. A tree limb came through my roof and a window in my den was shattered.

Around the house, we fared well. A couple of downed trees, both were already dead. No hail, and living on the 3rd highest point in the county, there was no flood threat. But, my district manager had me drive our full-size van on the normal delivery route while it blew in (!), so I promptly asked to be re-assigned to another role.
