I have no idea... but I had to take a picture of it.

OK, I had to take two.
I got out of work early today, and besides taking a picture of the donkey, I took a random walk around Providence, snapping photos along the way. Here's the results...
Top of the East Side bus tunnel at Thayer Street. I had planned to take more pictures of Thayer Street, but the batteries in my camera crapped out. Once I walked all the way through the interest part of the street to buy batteries, I didn't feel like walking back to take pictures. Another day I suppose.

East Side, view down toward the State House.

One of the East Side streets that turns itself into a staircase.

Part of the Rhode Island School of Design on Benefit Street.

Looking down Thomas Street toward the Citizens Bank Building[/IMG]

Hospital Trust Tower peeking above the First Bapist Church.

This is the Financial Distrct skyline from a parking lot on Benefit Street. I held the camera up over a chainlink fence and randomly shot, this is what came out.

North Main Street.

More North Main Street.

One of my favourite sets of buildings. Probably among the oldest in the city with the cities newest as a backdrop. The little cafe on the corner has great sandwiches.

The bottom end of the tunnel.

South Main Street, RISD and the Courthouse.

Crossing the river toward the Financial District (by the way, the Financial District is like 4 buildings

The Turks Head Building, my favourite.

Entering the Providence skyscraper canyon.

I think this little area infront of the Turks Head Building is actually called Turks Head Square, but I'm not really sure.

Here you can see the head of the Turk that gives the Turks Head Building it's name.

Weybosset Street.

Superman Building.

Canyon.

Leaving the Financial District down Weybosset Street.

Dorrance Street.

Brutal, Garrahy Court House. To be honest, I kinda like this building. Don't tell anyone!

East bank of the Providence River.

A completely different kind of Court House.

More brutalism, this one I don't like that much.

Back on South Main Street.

The Cable Car, just in time. Went in there and bought the world's largest medium iced coffee.

Put down my iced coffee long enough for one last shot.
