Last night, WRBL had a story on Midtown Inc success in landing funding for more of their street scape work.  They have already completed sections of Wynnton Rd near Peacock St, but now have funding for to continue the streetscape improvements from the Peacock intersection out to Hilton Ave.  Midtown Inc secured 800k from the DOT, while putting up 200k of their own money to make this project happen.  These kinds of projects do wonders for areas.  I think the 13th St/Wynnton corridor has alot of potential from the second you cross the bridge from PC all the way out the new library.  The rebirth of this corridor along with the rest of the midtown/St. Elmo area could create a really desireable area with unique/old neighborhoods/homes, good local/national retail, good city services (new library), etc.

Ground has been broken on the new City services center, indoor aquatic center, and parking garage at the intersection of Macon Road and Rigdon Rd. judging from the photo's I have seen it will only be a 3-4 story structure and the same with the parking garage.
