Atlanta mayoral candidate Rufus Terrill is proposing a police robot that would roam the streets of Atlanta to keep watch for trouble makers. This has to be a joke.

This guy owns a downtown restaurant and I think was just fed up with the homeless loitering around his business. Its a huge problem in the area.

I was in downtown last weekend and also noticed that it is a huge problem. The BumBot is pretty funny though as I could never really see it making an appearance on the streets, at least not in its current capacity (or anything close to it).
It seems like a better answer would be to ramp up the amount of police in the area? I'm not sure if I just happened to not notice the police, but I rarely saw any cops on the streets. I could count on one hand how many I saw all weekend, and that includes in patrol cars while driving around.
