Hello!

My name is Dani, and I am seeking out places to volunteer around Spartanburg.

I've been an emotional mess as of late and feel that I need to do some rewarding volunteer work around the community, to help myself and the city. I've emailed a couple of potential opportunities, but wanted to see if any other members of the community had some suggestions.

I've done some research and found it was a tad harder to find some stuff than I thought, then it occured to me that this site would probably be a great place to ask for advice since we're all active in so many places around town.

Thank you in advance for your time. Posted Image

PS: I don't seem to have full member access...I can't even access other member's profiles, and this topic appears to have shown up as locked, maybe because I have limited access. Can anyone message or email me and let me know why?

A real good organization in Spartanburg is Mobile Meals.

Hmm... I'm not sure why that is. You may need to validate your account via the email that should have been sent to you after you signed up. Let me know if you've already done that or if that doesn't work. We will get that resolved.

Welcome to the fourm!

Welcome to the fourm!

I thought I did validate my account. Even when I click the link again now, I get the following:

An Error Occurred
Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

[#10120] We could not find the validation request you are attempting to verify.

As for the suggestions, thank you everyone! Mobile Meals is something I'd like to do, but it doesn't work too well with my work schedule. I didn't think of the Co-op, though. I'll definitely get in touch with them to help out with fundraisers.

What link are you trying to click?

---

You might also try SPACE. They have periodic volunteer opportunities like river clean ups, and other things. There's always habitat for humanity or the humane society and that sort of thing. If you're a church-going person then you might consider volunteering there, and if you're not, the larger ones often have needs for volunteers for their social programs so it might be something to consider.

The link in the email I received when I registered. It also gives a validation key and user ID number in case the link doesn't work, but it gives me the same error.

And SPACE is a great idea. They are in the building I work in, so I've dealt with them a few times on business terms. Thanks for the suggestion. :)

I'm not sure why that's being a problem for you. I've posted this in the moderator's section. I'll let you know when I have an answer.
