What city/cities here in the south are world class or have the potential to be? Tell why or why not.

I think it's pretty much cut and dry bigboyz: Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Miami. There's a wiki page you can check out:

I agree. I see Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, and Miami as the no brainers of global cities in the South. These are the largest MSAs, highest GDP, big corporate presence, international companies and ammenities, etc. Some of the up and comers, on a global basis that is, are Charlotte, New Orleans, Orlando, Tampa, Austin, and San Antonio.
