Not sure if this will be of interest to many here but I've challenged myself to do a painting of something from all 75 counties in Arkansas.  I'm an oil painter and have been painting on and off since I was about 14.  I've gotten fairly serious about it over the course of the last 4 years and most of my subject matter recently has been Arkansas landscapes.  I'm a native of north central Arkansas so my pieces have been weighted heavily toward that area but I'm now taking on a bigger calling!  A very big calling...  I'll be documenting it all on a blog here:  http://paintingarkansas.blogspot.com  If you've got an interest in art, please come by and check it out.  I'll take suggestions on locations as well especially in southern Arkansas where my knowledge of local cool spots trickles down to almost nothing.

Cool, I particularly like your nature landscapes so far.  I'll be curious to see your upcoming works and what locations you decide to choose for future counties.

Thanks Mith!  I'm really looking forward to seeing new areas of the state and finding neat out of the way places that people just overlook.  And seeing the more well known too, of course!

I have to say the two Newton County paintings are my favorites so far.  Of course it's hard to pass up on the Buffalo Natl River area.

Yeah those are amongst my personal favorites as well!  I definitely have a soft spot for the Buffalo.  I have several more river paintings to post so I'll get those uploaded when I don't have brand new county content to put forward.
