Manhattan's grid system turns 200 years old

March 22, 2011 marked the 200th anniversary of the Manhattan grid system.  The New York Times has an interactive map that shows the 1811 grid system compared to the current layout...not much has changed:

Thanks for the link.  The Manhattan grid system is a great way to navigate the city, and it's worked remarkably well over the years.
