Looks like The Natural Science Center is getting a 23,000 square foot aquarium.

other plans include expansion of the zoo. The Greensboro Natural Science Center has an OmniSphere Theater which is like an IMAX dome theater.

I also didn't know that Greensboro is one of four cities in the world that has this state-of-the-art Omnisphere technology. Greensboro was the first city in the United States to use this technology.

I like the idea of Aquarium in the city, but shouldn't it be located in downtown Greensboro?

If it were up to me I would put it downtown next to the Childrens Museum in a mixed-use development on the old Duke Power site. I would also include a "true" IMAX theater with the project. But this will still be great for Greensboro, It will be the only aquarium in the central part of the state. I'm actually surprised that Charlotte hasn't built a major aquarium in uptown Charlotte.
