Richmond, VA developer Clachan Properties is ready to start work on the RJR Education Building; phase 2 of the Winston Factory Lofts complex at 101 E. Sixith Street.  The developer is asking the city to fund infrastructure improvements totaling $111,000.  (matching street lights, trees, sidewalks)


This is the last major vacant warehouse on E. Sixth which was once full of RJR and textile factories.  Most were demolished for surface lots.




I couldnt find any renderings.  This graphic from cityofws.org is whats being requested by Clachan.  We should no more after Tuesday's city council meeting.

Fox8 aired a report on the new project as well as the continued success of downtown residential.  Work will start next month.  Completion date is set for summer 2013.  Clachan is adding a gaming room, rooftop deck and small movie theater.
