I don't remember hearing anything about this before.. but apparently this presentation was from April 2011.

There are plans to improve the streetscape in the Hillsboro Village area.

Interesting.  I think a lot of the efforts going to the current Hillsboro Village "downtown" area could be spent elsewhere along Hillsboro Rd.  Especailly improving pedestrian and cyclist amenities further south to encourage pedestrian and bicycle traffic in an area that, frankly, seems to be perfect for it.  Lots of younger professionals and students, especially in the apartments in the area.

I for one always thought that this would be a great stretch of road for a streetcar line or better bicycle lanes, something to encourage more walking in a pretty congested area.
