1000 Main in downtown Houston is one of the first four new skyscrapers to be built in downtown since the skyline was revamped in the 1980s to what it is today.  Opened last year, it is 36 stories rising 518 feet.  It is 1.5 million sq ft, with 783,000 square feet of office space, 52,000 sq feet for restaurants.  The building will also house a food court, bank lobby, retail space on ground floors and tunnel floors.  The pedestrian tunnel extension to 1000 Main has also been completed to encourage ped activity between other major skyscrapers.  The METRORail Main Street Square station is located right outside the building, which is the same block as the station and the Main Street Pedestrian Fountain.  METRO also has a Ride Store located here to accomodate commuters.

Not as sleek as others in Houston, but I think it will fit in well

I think that it is pretty neat looking! Though it may not be as sleek, as Big City said, it will be something that will look nice in the skyline.

^ Why not? If you don't like reflective and shiny buildings then move to LA.

Yes, fourth one to the right.  The BofA is right behind 1000 Main.

And KornSnakez, there really isn't nothing wrong with the postmodern glassiness of the skyscrapers.  Not to go off topic, but speaking of LAs, I like LA's skyline, but what I don't like is that the buildings are too flat with a lack of variety.  All because of a building code which IMO is a stupid one due to an earthquake zone.

Don't get me wrong, I like LA's too. There's just no glass...

Very Nice!  On paper it looks like any other International Style "box skyscraper" but the glass and color style as well as the cornering on the building really makes it unique!
