Air pollution article                                                                                      Is the Greenville, Spartanburg, and Anderson area air really that bad? There is an article on the Greenville News website talking about it. Here is the pic that they show.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Posted Image

The last bad day for air quality was the 19th.

The worst day for air quality in the Upstate may have been July 22nd.

Air quality hasn't been that bad this week. In fact, this summer could set records in some cities for best air quality. We've had a lot of rain this summer and that helps.

South Carolina could start by requiring emissions tests on automobiles.  I got behind a South Carolina driver the other day and it just about made me gag as I had my windows down.

I think that its not as bad as they claim. Its hard to just reduce emissions of cars that travel through the area.

However- there are steps being taken. Truck stops in Anderson are getting these electrial outlet deals that they can hook their trucks up too. Normally they would leave their engines running to keep power on in their trucks- but the new outlets will allow transportation companies to save money by not wasting gas idling. These stations are going to be in place accross the Upstate soon.
