[Sniper]

Well, the West Elm store on the first floor of building B in Downtown Dadeland finally opened (later than originally planned, but it's open). Also, walk-throughs and closings on building B were finally scheduled for the week of November 20th. Once that takes place, the whole project should start to take on a life of its own. I can't wait!!!

This is the NorthWest corner of the Downtown Dadeland project showing Dadeland Mall across the street from Kendall Drive.

those are some incredible shots.  you know, Miami really hit a point recently where now, alot of the real estate which was there for years just sitting there has completely transformed;

5 years ago, Dadeland was just the mall, Datran, the Marriot and a couple of other bldgs. and the Dadeland North complex.  Now, it is becoming something akin to Buckhead in the ATL.

Are all those building being occupied yet?

What an overhaul!  I was through there a few years back and wouldn't recognize the area if I passed through again.

To date, the people in the office of the Downtown Dadeland project told me that there were already 40+ closings that had taken place. If you look at the window treatments from the perimeter of the buildings, the only activity that I see is in Building "B". As for  the Colonnade and the Toscano projects, I don't believe anyone has moved in yet, but I could be mistaken. Regarding the Metropolis project, someone told me that there were closings there, too, but I haven't been able to confirm this with my own eyes.

Thank you! Trust me, though, the pictures don't show the extent of what's really going on there. It's an incredible transformation!!!

It is incredible.  I wish Orlando could take a lesson from Dadeland when moving forward with the SoDo development, too bad really..

Well, the Downtown Dadeland project is almost done, so I was invited in for a walk-through and I snapped a few more pics to share with all of you. Please forgive the haziness, but the whole state is on fire and it's wreaking havoc on our sunshine!

This is an ENE shot from the 5th floor of Building "A". On the left is JCPenney and Nordstrom at Dadeland Mall. Behind is the Nouveau Condos building. Next to this building is the Dadeland Station building which is the home of Target, Michael's, Best Buy, Sports Authority, and Bed Bath & Beyond.


This is an East shot from the 5th floor of Building "A". Here you see The Container Store and Old Navy.

There certainly could have been more variation in the buildings, but its a great project regardless.

That is absolutely amazing.  This development should be the poster child for true urban growth in a once suburban environment.  Hell, it would fit right in downtown too!

I would say that Uptown Altamonte is a very similar project to Downtown Dadeland.  Dadeland/Kendall is not in downtown Miami like SoDo is in downtown Orlando.  It's about the same distance from downtown Miami as Altamonte is from downtown Orlando. While Uptown Altamonte is not as huge as Downtown Dadeland, it is still very impressive, I have heard friends from Tampa make the same comment as you
