Anyway i'll probably be moving in between this forum and the Upstate/Midlands forum on account of attending Furman but anyway here's the latest Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership newsletter to start things off:

A DOWNTOWN MULTIPLEX THEATER is now looking like more of a reality than a probability. Dale Pollock, dean of the School of Filmmaking at the N. C. School of the Arts, confirmed that Charlotte-based Consolidated Theatres has signed a letter of intent to open a 14-screen movie theatre at a location in the center city. Originally planned as part of the Unity Place development, Pollock remains instrumental in seeing that the project happens either there or at another downtown location.
A PARKING ANALYSIS prepared by Martin Alexiou Bryson for the Downtown Winston-Salem Partnership will be reviewed this month by the Parking Task Force, which is a part of the DWSP Infrastructure Committee. The report examines the availability of short-term parking spaces in the area bounded by Second, Poplar, Fifth and Main Streets; addresses current parking demand in the study area, and estimates future shortfalls. The Parking Task Force will present its recommendations regarding the study to the Infrastructure Committee on January 14.
TAR BRANCH TOWERS, the 27-unit condominium project on South Marshall Street, is moving into the interior finishing stage with 16 residential condos sold and 4 reservations. Developer Beau Dancy is seeking to lease approximately 5,000 s.f. of ground floor space to a restaurant/retail tenant.
PRIMARY TRACKING LLC, a software company that works on ways radio frequency identification (RFID) technology can support manufacturers, shippers and retailers, is investing more than $100,000 to create an automated warehouse which can show midsize companies how a product can be tracked from factory floor to warehouse to retail store. The technology, which will replace bar codes with tiny microchips placed onto products, is being hailed as the next wave of electronic inventory control. Primary Tracking is part of SilkRoad Technologies, Inc. located at 111 N. Chestnut Street in the Piedmont Triad Research Park.
BLACK HORSE STUDIO has a new location and owners, Lee and Martha Runion, have a new home in the former Nissen Wagon Works Building at Third and Patterson. Sometimes referred to as the "old castle", approximately half of the 33,000 s.f., 19th century building was completely renovated and will be known as The Black Horse Building. It also houses Art-O-Mat, an art-vending business on the second floor and Forsyth County offices on the third floor.
KUHN STUDIOS, INC., which produces high-end glass and metal sculptures, has moved its 40 employees to a 25,000 s.f. building at Liberty and Seventh Street. Owner and artist Jon Kuhn has steadily grown his business and the number of people employed in it since moving to downtown in 1985. The studio was formerly was in a 9,000 s.f. building on North Main Street.
