The north shore of Hong Kong Island facing Victoria Harbor is one of the most-densely packed districts of Hong Kong at 99,000 ppl in one square mile. This density gives rise to a plethora of highrise commercial and residential buildings there and that makes for a spectacular skyline for the city and ppl on Kowloon to look at. There are some famous buildings there:



Central Plaza, slightly taller than Bank Of China.

Completed in 2003, this is HK's new tallest building and it's height is the same as the WTC. The International Financial Center stands tall near the waterfront and used to have the world's largest ad on it. However, a new building soon would eclipse the height of the IFC.

I love that I.M. Pei building!  So sleek!  Pei, or someone related to Pei will be designing a tower in Miami soon, and I hope it's of this quality.  Great Pics!

If you look at the way a bamboo sprout grows and the design of this famous skyscraper, you will find one of the major themes of this building.

Well most architecture of the middle ages and ancient times were influenced by the types of woods that were in that particular region.  The pillars of Greek temples and the columns of Egyptian buildings resembled the palm trees that were abundant in that region.

If you look at the modern skyscrapers in like Dubai, Doha, and other modern Arabic cities with buildings, you could see some elements of the mosque applied into their architecture.
