Panson over at the fabulous ruins forum posted these maps.  They were originally published in the April 1996 issue of "Architecture" magazine.  The black areas are buildings, the white areas are vacant land (mostly parking areas).

Yes it does.  And that 1994 map was from before the Hudson's demolition...now there is yet another vacant property in the C-Mart area.

Wow, that's pretty disappointing.  Cool maps, nice illustration of the decay of the inner city in Detriot.  I wish I could find maps of other major cities like that.

A lot of the riverfront was for industrial use, so loosing those buildings wasn't all that bad, but there were countless buildings that were raized to build parking lots.  Now we have open fields downtown :(.  At least the C-Mart development & casinos will help fill in those blank spots.  Although Ilitch wants to add yet another blank spot by demolishing the Madison Lennox  :angry:
