Bergen
Hordaland - Norway

Bergen is the second largest city in Norway with a population on 212 626. Bergen is a old and historic city and was founded
by a famous Norwegian ex-viking king,
Olav Kyrre in 1070. The city has in all years after that been very important as, especally as a trade city. Today the city
is a famous tourist destination and far more.
Norway's third largest university is based here with 17 000 students. Bergen is also one of Europes largest and most important
harbours and trade center.

Wow, that cathedral (6th up from bottom) looks almost exactly like one down here in Lund. I so wish I coulda gone to Bergen when I was in Oslo....

Fantastic pics, I have always loved Scandinavian architecture, the lay of the land and the way your towns and cities embrace the water reminds me much of my hometown of Pittsburgh, though especially in Norway the water is much deeper, bluer and the hills and cliffs a lot higher and more grand.  I'd love to visit there someday!
