Came across the twelve/twelve website....pretty nice. Well of course it should be for marketing million dollar condos.

I like that they are already marketing the Gulch pedestrian bridge as an amenity, even though is has not been approved:

Accessibility redefined: Two blocks away from the future walking bridge of SoBro; Music City Circult stop in front of TWELVE {sodEmoji.|} TWELVE; easy access to downtown and other urban neighborhoods, universities, and interstates

'The Possum' lives on: George Jones museum planned downtown

http://www.bizjournals.com/nashville/blog/real-estate/2014/09/the-possum-lives-on-the-george-jones-tie-in-to-a.html

This should be a nice addition to the downtown museum scene and the 2nd ave district.

I'm just waiting on the Dolly Parton museum.....I think she still has a store on 2nd Ave. Maybe you have to be dead in order to get a museum.

That's kind of funny.  From Twelve / Twelve, it would literally be out of their way to take the Gulch Pedestrian Bridge to go anywhere other than Cannery Ballroom/Mercy Lounge and/or the Rescue Mission.  I get how the Gulch Pedestrian Bridge will take a few steps off the trip for people coming from the new Westin to Watermark.  But the most direct access from Twelve / Twelve to downtown is, well, the Demonbreun Street Viaduct.

Charlie Daniels has a museum on 2nd Ave, or at least he used to.

Don't forget the other intangibles that come with the bridge: Safer...more interesting/desirable...etc. along with easier access to whatever additional new development goes in on the vacant side of KVB.

I get that Nashville makes a ton of money on the country music industry, but I really wish they would incorporate more genres of music in the downtown scene i.e., Jazz, reggae, hip hop, etc. I would LOVE to go to a nice jazz spot after work since I work in the AT&T building and have a nice dinner and a cocktail, and chill until the traffic dies down. The city really need to work on it's diversity in the downtown core. I think that is one major thing lacking. I've been to much smaller cities that offered more diversity of people in it's downtown.

That sounds like an awesome way to spend an afternoon. A martini and some jazz in an underground bar. Why, Nashville, you city of all things music, don't you have this?!

The SoBro master plan shows a new road or pedestrian corridor connecting the MCC roundabout with the east end of the proposed bridge, a visual extension west of Korean Vets Blvd.  Is this still planned?  Concurrent with the bridge opening if the latter gets funding?  A recent post didn't sound like it was.

Seems to be almost as critical as the bridge itself, because of the visual connection that creates both a link and a perceived short, direct route.  Weaving back and forth via Lea just won't cut it if they foolishly allow development on the west edge of the roundabout.  You no longer have a corridor, it no longer appears to be just a couple of blocks away from the MCC, and the Gulch continues to be a completely separate district.  Instead you have to wander down back streets, which especially at night can be a psychological hindrance to users.

If they don't do the direct corridor from the west side of the roundabout then I no longer see a need for prioritizing or even public funding of the bridge.  90% of the potential synergy will have been missed.

Isn't there blues at BB King's?  And rock at the Hard Rock?  The magnificent Schermerhorn Symphony Center is just a couple of blocks away and always has stuff going on, and then of course there's the Ryman which hosts a plethora of non-country concerts throughout the year.  Jethro Tull and Jerry Lee Lewis are both doing concerts there next week, for example.

There used to be a jazz club on 2nd Ave, Mère Bulles.  I always heard it was popular so I don't know why it closed.

Responding to MGC (for some reason my quote/reply button is not working).     You raise a good point about the visual connection from the KVB roundabout to the bridge.    As you say, the SoBro master plan did include an access corridor coming straight off the roundabout and even included a green space on the SoBro landing side of the bridge.    To my knowledge, neither the green space nor the KVB access is part of the specs for the proposed bridge.    The specs describe the SoBro landing as steps and a ramp to 10th Avenue South.   The recent expansion of the 2 story building on 9th more or less cut off the direct visual access from KVB to the bridge.

Some really great ideas in the NCDC study. I'd really like to see something like this happen. With all the hotels coming in that will abut the alley, now seems like the perfect time.

https://www.nashvillepost.com/news/2014/9/30/chocolate_shop_headed_to_germantown

The owners of Germantown neighborhood eatery 312 Pizza Co. are planning a European-influenced chocolate-making operation for the fast-changing mixed-use district.

Someone should tell them how The Cocoa Tree did vs Red Bicycle

It was almost a different neighborhood 3 years ago when Cocoa Tree closed.

Cocoa Tree vs Red Bicycle

Zachie's vs Flour.Sugar.Eggs

Private Art Gallery vs Art.Drink.Whatever

DrinkHaus vs Pieces

Hair salon still open but has been sold twice

Nothing has had sustained success on that side of 5th or Madison.

Good luck to them.
